What are dermal fillers?<\/h3>\n

Dermal fillers are substance\/gels injected beneath the skin\u2019s surface to smooth wrinkles and add volume and contour. The products are composed of stabilised hyaluronic acid (HA) which occurs naturally in the cells of the skin. It works by drawing in water and therefore augmenting the skin, thus reducing the wrinkle treated. It is by no means permanent and is totally biodegradable. Depending on what type of dermal fillers, results can last between one to two years.<\/p>\n

Are dermal fillers safe?<\/h3>\n

Dermal fillers are very safe and have been used for over a decade. The most popular brand of dermal filler has sold over 20 million syringes.<\/p>\n

What areas can dermal fillers be used for?<\/h3>\n

The face loses volume and contour when we age, the bones and the soft tissue dissolve and contribute to appearance of sagging. Dermal fillers may be used to replace this volume loss and restore the structural support, giving the patient a more youthful appearance. The aim is to make the face more harmonious and rejuvenated.<\/p>\n

How long will the effects of my treatment last?<\/h3>\n

Results are usually immediate for dermal filler treatments; however, they can take up to 2 weeks to fully integrate and settle. The visible effect of dermal filler treatment can last between 3 months to 2 years generally, depending on the filler used and the treated area. The result wears off gradually as fillers are broken down naturally by the body. This will usually happen evenly and without being noticed, with a return to your original appearance.<\/p>\n

Will people be able to tell I\u2019ve had treatments done?<\/h3>\n

This is up to you. We like our clients to look naturally youthful and beautiful and achieve the results that please them. With the light and subtle treatments our clinicians are experienced in, even close friends may not be able to tell you\u2019ve had any treatment. They may say you look well or fresher but not be able to quite work out why, so it can be your little secret should you want to keep it that way.<\/p>\n

What will happen if I stop having treatments?<\/h3>\n

If you decide to stop having treatments, the results will wear off gradually and you will return to your normal appearance without any lasting effects or visible changes. There is no harm in having a filler or anti-wrinkle treatment just once for a special occasion to give yourself a lovely fresh glow, however, optimum results will be achieved by repeating treatments on a regular cycle or timescale as advised by our clinicians.<\/p>\n

Advanced injection techniques, coupled with the use of micro-cannula (blunt needle) and improved product safety means that significant side effects are extremely uncommon but may include:<\/p>\n
