CFast is a great treatment for straightening your front teeth, those visible when you talk, laugh and smile. Not only are they more discreet than traditional braces but they are also fast acting. The time needed to straighten teeth will vary from person to person but is generally between 4 and 6 months.

Cfast is a widely used ‘wire and bracket’ approach to teeth straightening. The components are made in tooth-coloured materials to make them as discreet as possible. These work by applying gentle pressure to the teeth, encouraging them towards their desired position. It should be noted that these are suitable only for cosmetic purposes and other options may need to be considered where you have issues with your bite.
As well as the aesthetic differences, Cfast differ from traditional metal braces in a couple of other ways. Whilst traditional metal braces aim to shift your teeth and jaws, Cfast braces focus on moving the teeth for purely cosmetic reasons and do not address more serious functional issues. They’re also not suitable for younger patients.
We generally advise that patients avoid eating harder foods and especially sticky foods such as toffees. Aside from harder foods dislodging the braces, stickier foods may become trapped in the wires and brackets and can lead to tooth decay.Otherwise, you will be able to eat most things.
You may experience some discomfort for a few days after the braces have been fitted, but this usually disappears within a couple of days as you become used to your new braces.
Cfast braces are designed to be a short-term orthodontic treatment. Treatment will take up to 9 months though most patients only require 4-6 months in order to achieve the results they were expecting.
You will need to be examined by our Sevenoaks Dental & Implant Centre dentists in order to determine if this is the correct teeth straightening treatment for you. We will also make sure that your mouth is healthy and that any issues such as gum disease are under control before the treatment starts.
