FAQ

Ceramic braces are made of clear, ceramic brackets that adhere to the front of your teeth. They look just like regular metal braces, except they’re clear and the brackets are slightly smaller than metal brackets. The arch wire that connects each bracket and actually does the work to shape the teeth can be either silver or white. This makes the braces nearly invisible, especially in photos.
The brackets themselves probably won’t get stained. The clear bands that connect the arch wire to the brackets are more likely to get stained. Those get replaced every few weeks anyway, so if they do get stained then you can just get them replaced at your next appointment.
Ceramic braces don’t take longer than metal brackets! Clear braces are just as strong as silver metal braces, so your dentist can put as much pressure on your ceramic braces as they would on metal braces. Most patients wear braces for 1–3 years, whether they’re white, clear, or silver.
Ceramic braces are best for older teens and adults who can watch what they eat and drink.Ceramic clear braces are designed to blend in with your teeth and they are virtually impossible to notice when worn.
Ceramic braces are one of the most comfortable options for dental realignment. Their smaller rounded brackets and ceramic material means that they are less likely to cause discomfort or irritate your gums. Overall, the experience with ceramic braces is a lot more bearable than their metal counterparts.

Benefits of Ceramic Braces

  • Ceramic braces are less visible than the traditional braces - This can be a huge advantage if you are considering braces and do not want to feel self-conscious about wearing them.
  • Ceramic braces match the colour of your natural teeth - This makes them ideal for straightening your teeth if you work a full-time job or attend college and do not want to draw attention to them.
  • Ceramic braces give better comfort than their metal counterparts – the brackets used with ceramic braces are smaller than those used with traditional metal braces, making them less likely to cause irritation or discomfort.
