What is JUVÉDERM®?
JUVÉDERM® is the world’s leading hyaluronic acid or HA facial filler. HA binds to water in your skin which may smooth lines and wrinkles, add volume, and enhance or define facial features.
JUVÉDERM® facial fillers have the ability to integrate with your own facial tissue to get natural-looking results.
Each JUVÉDERM® facial filler is designed for a particular purpose, whether it’s to treat fine or deep lines/folds, restore facial volume for a lifting effect, or reshape and redefine the lips. Your qualified medical aesthetics practitioner may suggest several treatments from the JUVÉDERM® range to create a tailored treatment plan for you.
What can JUVÉDERM® be used for?
JUVÉDERM® hyaluronic acid facial fillers are injectable treatments that can be used to either refresh your look or enhance your features.
If you want to REFRESH your look, we have specific facial fillers that can replace lost facial volume, lift cheeks, plump lips, smooth out lines and wrinkles and restore moisture content.
The ways that JUVÉDERM® facial fillers can REFRESH your look include:
- Softening the lines around your eyes*
- Improving your under-eye area*
- Adding volume to your temples
- Adding fullness to your cheeks
- Lifting and projecting, for a more defined look
- Softening and smoothing lines around the mouth
- Adding volume and definition to plump your lips
- Contouring your chin and jawline
If you want to ENHANCE your features, we have specific facial fillers designed to shape and contour particular areas of the face.
What is the advantage of hyaluronic acid-based fillers?
They don’t come with a risk of adverse reaction because the main active ingredient is found naturally in the body. In fact, Juvederm does not require allergy testing.
Hyaluronic acid also settles in more smoothly compared with other types of dermal fillers, resulting in softer and more natural results (no bumps and other surface irregularities).
What areas are treated with Juvederm?
Juvederm is FDA cleared for the aging cheeks or mid-face, lips, and nasolabial folds
Is it painful?
The vast majority of patients described their experience with Juvederm as having no or very little discomfort since it’s a common practice to apply topical numbing medications prior to injection. Occasionally, the filler is infused with lidocaine, which is a numbing drug, to further promote patient comfort.
How long does the treatment take?
It often takes 20-30 minutes to complete, although it might be longer if you ask for Botox or other complementary facial rejuvenation treatments. You should be able to return to work and other normal activities the same day as your treatment.
How long the results last?
Juvederm may last about a year when used in the lips, 12-18 months in the laugh lines, and up to two years in the cheek. The cheek area experiences slower resorption rate because it doesn’t move as much as the lips.
