Implant Retained Dentures

Loose dentures can leave you feeling frustrated and restricted. Eating might become difficult, and your confidence may be compromised where smiling becomes difficult, perhaps even embarrassing. At Sevenoaks Dental & Implant Centre, we offer implant-retained dentures, that allow you, once again, to have a secure, full set of natural-looking teeth. Acts such as smiling and eating become simple once again, restoring your happiness and confidence

Are the dentures fixed or removable?

Implant-supported dentures may be permanently attached to the implants. These are not removed each night and are cleaned within the mouth. It’s also possible to have removable dentures supported by dental implants.

How many dental implants will I need?

To replace a full arch with a retained denture, you will need at least two implants, but possibly three or four. Your dentist will design your treatment plan based on medical factors that are unique to you.

Is there an age range?

There is not an age range, we have placed dental implants and dentures on children and all ages of seniors. Its less about age and more about your overall health. Patients with compromised health need additional consideration but we can usually accommodate even patients with health conditions.

I don’t want people to know I have a denture or implants. Will my smile look like I have real teeth?

Every patient is different and has different goals and preferences about shade, size, and overall look of their new teeth. We are starting over with your teeth so think about exactly what you want, and we will do everything in our power to deliver. During the design process you will work one-on-one with our dentists to develop a product that meets your goals.

What risks are associated with dental implants?

Patients who have medical or other conditions that may interfere with the healing process of either their bones or soft tissues (e.g., connective tissue disorders, steroid therapy, bone infections, cigarette smoking) must carefully evaluate, the potential risks and benefits of using dental implants.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Dental implant retained dentures are stable – The dentures are stable, secure, and comfortable. Very little adjustment is needed after placement.
Dental implant retained dentures will improve your confidence – You will not need to change your diet, fret about the dentures shifting or falling out or worry about speech being affected.
Dental implant retained dentures prevents shrinkage – Without the root structure of a natural tooth present, the jawbone can shrink. This situation is at its worst when you lose all of your natural teeth. Dental implants help to promote bone growth, helping to strengthen and protect the jawbone.
